Former unitarian Andrew DeFord has written a book arguing for the truth of trinitarian theology. In this dialogue, we tried to focus on christological concerns, as he had heard me in the past make very strong statements regarding my view that personal incarnation is logically impossible. I like DeFord a lot, seems like a thoughtful, sincere guy.
But his key argument by analogy, that a God that can create a universe, can also become a man, is a huge mistake I think. There are numerous apparent logical contradictions within any incarnational theory, a problem that creation ex nihilo does not share. Take a look and see who you think made the better case.
